Differences among females’ and males’ impressions about immediate workgroups and immediate supervisors

We have selected 7 matching questions from the immediate workgroup and immediate supervisor section from both years, and CA has been performed to obtain the differences between men and women in both years.

But first, we made sure that there are some associations there using a chi-square test and checked if it does make sense to perform In all of the tests, a small p-value indicated associations. The CA with row principal method has been performed and plots and profiles obtained are as below:

Similarities between male and female profiles are observed through the table, However, exact similar profiles between male and female in both years regarding immediate workgroups or immediate supervisors are as follows:

  • In both years, both male and female participants agreed that people in their workgroups are committed to workplace safety.

  • In both years both male and female participants strongly agreed that their supervisors treat people with respect.

Differences between two genders:

Opinions are slightly different in other areas of examination, for example regarding supervisors communicating effectively, male participants in 2014 had a “Neither agree nor disagree ~ disagree “ profile while females in the same year had the “Disagree” profile. In 2019 female participants had a profile of “Disagree ~ Strongly disagree” while male participants had a profile of “Strongly disagree”. It seems like in both years male participants had a more negative perception about their supervisor’s communication skills than females.
