Do subordinates’ perceptions about wellbeing change from 2014 to 2019?

In this section, we have selected 8 similar questions filtered by participants so that we can have a look at what Trainees, Graduates, and APS think about wellbeing. We have performed correspondence analysis as well as one tailed Mann Whitney U test to extract these changes. Those questions are as below:

  • Considering your work and life priorities, how satisfied are you with the work-life balance in your current job?

  • I don't have unrealistic time pressures. (Tone has been reversed)

  • I have a choice in deciding how I do my work.

  • My immediate supervisor encourages me.

  • I receive the respect I deserve from my colleagues at work.

  • Relationships at work are not strained. (Tone has been reversed)

  • I am clear what my duties and responsibilities are.

  • Staff are consulted about change at work.

Assuming the independency of participants in both years the Mann Whitney test has been performed on each pair of questions and the hypothesis for each pair is as below:

H0: true location shift is equal or greater than 0. (Meaning perceptions about wellbeing in 2019 has not improved)

Ha: true location shift is less than 0. (Meaning perceptions about wellbeing in 2019 has improved)

After running the test we observe improvement in all of these areas by 2019.

Then chi-square test has been performed, and after confirming the existence of associations, Using correspondence analysis to compare profiles we can observe that it does confirm our previous Mann-Whitney findings. Profiles are shown in the table.
